Mod Launcher usage

what's up guys reason here with the

seven days to die mod launcher

installation guide for the purpose of

this video we're going to be installing

darkness falls the mod launcher can be

used to install other mods and muffets

as well but for now we're just gonna

stick to darkness falls okay first off

guys what you want to do is you want to

download the mod launcher you want to go

to the website that I have in my address

bar or click on the button that will be

in the description down below once

you've got the webpage up what you want

to do is you want to click on this it

should bring up the option to save or

download the file once you've done that

save your file go through it base pretty

basic installation for a program get it

set up where you want it to be and then

open it now once you've opened it you

want to set the destination for mods for

me I've got it set to steam steamapps

common seven days to die mods alpha 18

as alpha 19 for most of these mods has

not been released yet so that's a pretty

simple one you navigate steamapps go to

common seven days to die and there's

your mods folder now if you don't

actually have the mods folder pretty

easy to create right-click create new

folder name it

mods once you've done that you can then

go in and create another folder or you

can put it wherever you want

now most mods will install to a separate

directory but this is where all focus on

now once you've done that navigated to

it created the necessary folders you can

then minimize go back to your seven days

to die mod launcher check that make sure

that it's correct and from there we will

be going to darkness falls now what it

should do now is create an area that it

will be installed to you also want to

make sure that your vanilla version is

set to here so that it knows what files

to pull now what it will do is it will

copy seven days to die vanilla files to

a new folder as well as download the

darkness falls files from the git lab

repository or wherever else that set up

this can be done in a number of ways you

can do it as a manual way or however you

want but we will be doing the mod

launcher to begin with now you can also

download vanilla files fresh from Steam

if you want by clicking on this one but

for now we're just gonna go copy from an

existing folder and it will start the

process as you can see down the bottom

that's where it will be copying to now

if you do have any issues with setting

all of this up there are a number of

YouTube videos to reference but for this

we're just doing darkness falls

okay so a mod folder has been detected

this is what I wanted to show you so the

folder has been detected previously

installed by different mod and it asks

if you'd like to delete it it will then

install the correct mods for you you can

say no or you can just say yes get it

over and done with move from there now

once that's happened pretty much

everything has been copied over and it's

now ready to download now you may sit

there and think yeah I've got the files

ready but they aren't what you have to

do is you actually have to go play mod

now the wise thing to do is have steam

open first otherwise it may not work so

you've got steam open now and we will

wait for a second for it to fully load

done hit play mod you go okay why isn't

it working straightaway hmm well it's

actually doing now is it's checking the

mod information and getting ready to

actually download the four plus key of

files that it will need to install

darkness falls into a new folder once

that's happened we'll come back and

we'll go from there what you will notice

is that seven days to die folder has

changed it's not just seven days to die

at seven underscore days underscore to

underscore die now that is where the mod

will be installed along with a copied

version of a vanilla steam because you

do not want to install any of the

overhaul mods directly to your vanilla

files now a lot of people have this

question they ask why can't we because

when steam updates or checks for version

correctness it will download and replace

any files that darkness falls or any

other mod has installed now the

mullets aren't a problem but anything

else will be so you have updated

configuration files for darkness falls

they will then be replaced by the

vanilla ones and it can cause a lot of

issues when trying to play from the

vanilla folder so you want to make sure

that you have a separate folder

completely I know a lot of people were

like well that's you know it's harder

for me to do that right click new folder

place it wherever you want and install

to that now we will reference to that in

the manual installation but that will

come in a separate video for now you

just want to make sure the darkness

falls is installed separately from the

villanelle files okay guys that's

darkness falls installed so you'll now

notice that everything has been done

every time there is an update which you

may or may not be on the forums or on

the discord to know about is every time

you play just hit precinct mod just in

case it just refreshes the mod doesn't

start the game necessarily or if you're

not wanting to play or there was an

update just hit precinct mod and it will

update anything from the repository that

it hasn't already got and then you

should be fine to play now what you want

to do is you want to make sure that it

says modeled with darkness falls 18.4 be

for now this is the stable version and

if you press f1 which is what I've got

my console set to you will notice

sometimes that there is a red line there

that's just the profiles because it

doesn't actually have them because it's

a new version now when you just go new

game it'll bring up these you can create

your own make it look like however you

want or you can just click on that ok go

from there now the purpose of this we

will not be playing but everything

that's in here should be similarly set

to what settings you had in vanilla or

the profile

Oh game save from other versions of

different games so you want to make sure

that all your settings are correct in

here and in here the ones I have at the

moment were for testing some other other

other mods and things like that but for

now what you want to do is you just want

to choose your map state your game

do not play pre Gen 1 2 & 3 they are

vanilla they are not updated to run the

darkness falls peer wise and those sorts

of things so now that we've done that

we're done all you got to do let's play

the game next video we will be doing a

manual installation so if you want some
